Toptableplanner is a seating chart application that helps users organize a comfortable, practical arrangement for gatherings and events. The user can drag and drop guests as well as tables onto seating charts. Guest lists can be imported from Excel or Word documents. The application also supports different table shapes, including round, square and rectangular. Toptableplanner goes a step further by including cake tables, gift tables and dance floor spaces for seating charts. The user can also add meal selection as well as RSVP information. Existing tables can be edited to add or remove seats as necessary. Seating charts can be printed in different sizes. The user can also create and print place cards and escort cards as well as guest lists in different fonts.

Toptableplanner was founded in June of 2006 by Adam Leyton. The first version was officially launched in February of 2007. Since then Toptableplanner has seen numerous updates that added enticing features and improved functionality. So far the application hasn’t seen significant media coverage, but has not gone unnoticed either. The service offers a wide range of customization options so the user can tailor their seating chart to any event or venue layout.

Creating a seating chart for a large event is not easy. Toptableplanner doesn’t completely simplify the process, but it does all it can to give users a better way to stay organized. The application comes with a number of customization options that let users work with different table shapes as well as other elements, like dance floors and gift tables. The ability to print place cards and import guest lists makes Toptableplanner even more attractive than most basic seating arrangement organizers.

Toptableplanner has a lighthearted nature about it that lets users focus on the task at hand while having some fun with it. The light blue and pink color scheme adds variety without distractions. The seating charts are very clean, clearly marked and simple to understand. The user can easily recreate any venue layout in a matter of minutes using the application. The drag and drop interface further gives the user more control and less frustration as they try to fit all guests in comfortably.

A new user can click the orange “Sign Up Now” button in the upper, right hand corner of the homepage to begin. The next step asks the user to choose a preferred subscription option. After checking the terms of service agreement box and submitting the form, the user is asked to login to their Paypal account or pay with a credit card using Paypal.

Toptableplanner offers three subscription options to its users. The first is the Personal license which includes six months of access and the ability to save up to five seating plans at once for $20. The user can upgrade the same license to a full year of access for a total of $30. A Professional license is offered for $80 and includes one year of access, the ability to save up to 10 seating plans at a time and business use permissions.

Toptableplanner is a helpful tool for brides and anyone else planning a large event. Professional party planners can buy a Professional license to manage clients more effectively. Casual users can buy a shorter term subscription that is long enough to cover the amount of time needed to plan most large scale events, such as a wedding or anniversary party. The interface is user friendly and the application includes a few appealing extras that can make life easier on the event planner.
